Principal's Message

Greetings Westwood Heights Elementary Parents, Community Members, and all Invested Stakeholders,
Welcome back to another monumental year of teaching and learning with our students, staff, and school community. As a results of our unwavering commitment to lifting up a standard of excellence in improving students’ learning outcomes, Westwood Heights Elementary achieved the first “A” rated status in the history of the school for the 2025-2026 school year.
I am especially proud to announce that WHE not only maintained “A” rated school status for the 2026-2027 school year but performed at even higher levels of achievement across several of the eight school grade components (Mathematics, Reading, ELA and Math Learning Gains, ELA and Math bottom quartile Learning Gains). As we continue the important work of inspiring excellence and accelerating achievement for the new school year, the goal is to “Soar to higher heights” ensuring each scholar exceeds “targeted academic stretch goals”. At our upcoming school improvement community meeting, we will share a robust strategic progression plan, which outlines WHE Blueprint for continued success.
Core Values & Theme, Mantra, Motto
The staff at WHE consistently holds true to the belief that: All students can achieve their highest potential and we are never satisfied until they do. Therefore, we will continue to cultivate an inclusive school atmosphere where we foster the development of “the whole child”. The WHE Team is committed to systematically closing the existing achievement gaps year after year by working cohesively to foster a “student and staff centered” learning environment where we nurture supportive relationships, hold our scholars and each other to high expectations, and ensure the effective implementation of WHE embedded best practices.
2026-2027 Theme: WHE Climbing to Higher Heights. Mantra: Inspire, Accelerate, Elevate. Motto: Lifting up a Standard of Excellence. We are especially excited about this year’s theme. It will ignite enthusiasm, passion, and a renewed commitment to the work, setting the tone for the energy and optimism we will bring into the new school year, ensuring student achievement continuously soars to higher heights!
